County courts occupy the middle level of the hierarchy of a three level court structure and are the courts supported by the county clerk. Original jurisdiction for these courts encompasses most misdemeanors with the exception of those of public officials. The county court also has appellate jurisdiction in cases originally tried in justice and municipal courts.
